Description
The Cairns Birdwing (Ornithoptera euphorion) is a species of birdwing butterfly endemic to northeastern Australia, and is Australia's largest endemic butterfly species. Other common names include Cooktown Birdwing and Northern Birdwing. The name Cairns in its common name is a reference to the Queensland, Australia city in the region where this butterfly is found.

The Westminster Butterfly Pavilion combines science education with interactive fun to teach visitors about invertebrates and conservation. There are five immersive exhibits, including our rainforest filled with 1,600 free-flying tropical butterflies, provide a year-round, unforgettable experience. Visitors can get up close and personal with live animals, enjoy daily educational programs, explore the wonder of the outdoors on the nature trail, and discover the newest traveling exhibit. Butterflies are just the beginning. Founded in July 1995, as the first stand-alone non-profit invertebrate zoo in the nation, the Butterfly Pavilion is a 30,000 square foot facility situated on an 11-acre campus provided by the City of Westminster, Colorado.
............
The Butterfly Pavilion was created by the Rocky Mountain Butterfly Consortium, a Colorado non-profit founded in 1990. As a publicly supported facility, the Butterfly Pavilion is primarily supported by admission fees, community support and by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). The five-acre site was provided by the City of Westminster.

Glad you like the 40mm. It is my favorite lens! And how light is that to carry with your Mark III! Like nothing...

Great color & capture, Jon F&V
Jon Burch Photography replied:
Thank you Karol! If you go to one of these butterfly jungles, I suggest you wear summer clothes and do it on a day when there are about three foot snow drifts outside.
